I just realized that when I was a kid listening to the Lone Ranger on the radio (!) that I never knew what Tonto had on his head, if anything.
A) it’s Depp and B) if you check out the photographs of Edward S. Curtis – premier photographer of Native Americans you will find headgear very similar to what Mr. Depp wore as Tonto
