An Air Force nurse who was in the delivery room for both of my daughters, was a black belt in Judo. Her name was Evelyn. She competed in a tournament in 1961. She was paired for a match with a Japanese black belt. Evelyn won the match when she flipped the Japanese airman over and knocked him unconscious. He was taken away in an ambulance and it was determined that his neck had been broken. After that Evelyn was known every where as “the girl who broke that Jap’s neck”.
A college friend learned his lesson while playing a “friendly” pick-up game of rugby. Harry was a muscular 6’3", weighing in at 230 pounds or better. A skinny, but fearless little 9 year old girl laid him out when making a play for a loose ball. It took an ambulance ride, surgery, and months of rehab to get his knee back in working order. Never underestimate your opponent.
Don’t worry. For $50, I will tell people that you held off 12 angry men with baseball bats trying to take a little old ladies purse. Actually that would be more easily believed than the truth….

Tell them he was demolished by a five-year-old yellow belt.

His body may heal, but his pride is permanently scarred.
