Even with the low number of panels, like #3 having only four panels compared with the first two strips, astonishing non-verbal continuities are created!
I know of no other comic strip that consistently delivers non-verbal signifiers strip after strip after strip. The artist was a master of non-verbal information.
For me, the semiotics of the strips approach the status of the hieroglyphic forms of language.
Dog Gone Guys, I just read or look at BOZO for the fun part and the challenge of finding the Umbrella Man. For a minute I thought I was back in Art Class in College.
1) Bozo the salesman that doesn’t quit, he puts his head in the door instead of a foot. Buy and he will go away for awhile. Purchase quicker and he will leave as swiftly.
2) Bozo minding his own business finds what another man is searching for. The be speckled man gets the shiny bauble and Bozo gets carried off by a police officer.
3) Bozo is being chased by a cop, again and runs into a huge circus tent where a dog act is playing. Through the hoop goes the dogs, then Bozo then the huge cop get’s stuck as Bozo escapes..
Thanks to the two new followers from yesterday. And thanks for the great comments made here from some obviously outstanding people. Your consistent enthusiasm for Bozo should send a signal to GoComics that the strip deserves more publicity.

Love the third one today. Even with the panels so close I didn’t see that coming.

2. That doesn’t ring true.
3. Either all the way or overweight. (That cute little dog is a supporting actor in many of Bozo’s strips.)
