It took a moment to spot Jules, but is that him under the question mark in the second panel? And then perched on top of I-don’t-know whisper bubble in the third panel?
Did anyone else see Jules in all four panels? He overheard them and was curious. I like his moment of realization before flying off. He’s not slow on the uptake.
I KNEW IT! Right when the moles were getting mean I thought July Bug (Jules) would be perfect. Moles don’t know what’s about to hit them. Squeee, this is my favorite month and I make sure to remind Georgia every year.
Yay, it’s Jules! Did he just help her find the solution ? Will those lawn potatoes, get hoovered and become, Lawn Mashed Potatoes? Will Jules go into the Pink house where a new kitten lives, who may or may not, know how to use explosives? Tune in tomorrow at this same Cat Channel, at your own Cat Time!
Jules! Heck yes!!!!! This is going to be an interesting week and a half to wind down July. Perhaps the vacuum will now be the key to the moles downfall and the return to order out of chaos in the realm of BCN! How? Good question, I guess we shall see very soon! I wonder if Mags remembers Jules from the trial of ’91, perhaps their paths have crossed since then as well. Great arc Georgia!
No wonder Georgia said she had plotted a story arc that would last all summer! It will take that long to untangle this. I am eager to find out the motivation of the moles because once that’s revealed, there will be a solution like with the Mama vacuum cleaner.
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: So you want to get a group together to explore this new pyramid.
Wally: Yes, Your Majesty. We think it may be the lost "You Call This a Pyramid?* of legend.
The Queen: And who do you wish to take along?
Iron Glove: Wally, Ora Z, and I would like to go. Beatrixia is good to have there if anything unexpected happens, and perhaps Puckmosis and Iggy could come along, if Iggy’s back from the fishing trip, Your Majesty. Since Kara and Vann are with Thomios, maybe Humphrey and Lauren could go along?
The Queen: Very well. Gather your supplies and explore.
Meanwhile, Back at the Ceiling Can Be a Floor Culinary School
Thomios: The Perfect Perch banquet went swimmingly. What can we do for tonight’s dinner?
Floofnet the Joyous: I think a light salad meal would be just the ticket. With a strawberry angel food cake for dessert.
Thomios: Perfect. We have plenty of strawberries and veggies from sources we know not.
Floof: And I think I’ll bake some crusty bread to go with it.
At the Nile Harbor
Iggy: Thanks for letting me come along on the fishing trip, guys.
Fresh Water Cat: Any time. Want to join us next run?
Iggy: Love to.
Salt Water Cat: And maybe we’ll be able to supply Floofnet’s Culinary School as well.
Wally: Hey, Iggy! Ora Z and the gang discovered a new pyramid. Want to explore?
Parrie Dog colonies are vacuumed up(or at least that was what they were doing 10-15 years ago according to the San Antonio Express-News) without harm. So blowing them out of the ground could accomplish the same thing. Have to be a really powerful vacuum though
So I haven’t had time to read all the comments yet, so someone may have answered this already. So, any guesses how the vacuum cleaner is going to be used in this scenario? And how does switching it from sucking in to pushing out going to help? Just not seeing this, but you guys are great at guessing at the possibilities.
A long ago friend used high pressure wash unit. He hooked up the hose and threaded it down into one of the tunnels. He must have run a couple hundred gallons through those tunnels over four hours. Never saw a mole after that, at least for the couple of years I was still in the area.
Thank you to everyone who has joined the new BCN Patreon! Over three hundred folks joined the first week, (!!!) and it has been a delight sharing fun extras over there! This is a new experience for me, I’m still getting my footing for sure. However, already this has me looking through boxes of saved BCN art and lost comics from years past, and it’s been so fun to start revisiting things. I loved sharing a peek at a future panel, too! I hope to share more of those weekly.
Some folks noticed early on that all the tiers unlock the Patreon content equally. Yes, this was on purpose! My hope was that way folks of all income levels could join and people would pay what they could afford. It would not be as fun for me if folks were contributing and yet were still locked out of some posts. And it is amazing to report that the tier with the most Patreons is the $5 “Coffee Run” tier, which is such a big help to me along the way, thank you!
Thank you to everyone who has joined, your support is such a help. And if you’d like to join, you can find the BCN Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/breakingcatnews
A few readers have asked about annual subscriptions (thank you!) and according to Patreon, I should be able to offer those once the page has been established for three months. So, hopefully soon!

Did Jules surprise Mags so that her paw slipped, or was the slip a coincidence?
Sue Ellen over 1 year ago
Since that is one of the old time vacuums that blows both in and out, is Mags planning to use it to blow the moles out of their holes?

Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Oh, suck up them moles.
We once lost (We once lost)
But now we’re found (But now we’re found)
And now those mole souls (And now those mole souls)
Are Heaven bound! (Are Heaven bound!)
Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Oh, suck up them moles.
So deep you can’t get past it,
So low you can’t get under it,
So wide you can’t get ’round it
. Moles just gotta die.
Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Suck up them moles into the bag of the vacuum,
Oh, suck up them moles.

We met some demon vermin
They took our stuff away
They said we had it comin’ to us
But we don’t see it that way
They think they’re not above cat shovin’
And they take what they can get
Mmh, mmh, mmh
Mag looked toward them with angry eyes
And said
“You ain’t seen nothin’ yet
C-c-c-crazy, you just ain’t seen n-n-n-nothin’ yet
Here’s something that you’re never gonna forget
S-s-s-sneaky, you just ain’t seen n-n-n-nothin’ yet
Nothin’ yet, not with Jules around"
That’s what she told them
They need an education
Get the buzz from Jules
‘Cause they ain’t seen nothin’ yet
Lalalalalala

I love her “thank garbage”. I’m guessing from the lower case g, that it’s more of “thank goodness” than the raccoon equivalent of “thank Cat”.
