I don’t think it is hippies that are extinct so much as it is the hippie lifestyle. Living out of VW vans (buses as VW called them), getting stoned, flower power, etc…. Maybe the lifestyle still exists, but I don’t see it in this neck of the woods. I think the hippie lifestyle started to wane when kids figured out they can go home again.
