Odd food pairings: when I was a kid, I’d put minced onion in my oatmeal, and parsley flakes in my Cream of Wheat—never the other way around. (That would have been silly!) I also would put parmesan cheese on a pancake, roll it up, and eat it dry. As an adult I once put popcorn in my chili (out of crackers, and, no, it didn’t taste good at all), and onion rings as a side dish for clam chowder—the side dish being the important factor.

As someone I once knew said at the International Science Fair level, “You could develop a cure for cancer and you might win a third”.
It was….interesting (for lack of a better word), what projects did win from the local to the international level. Sometimes it made no sense.
