Maybe it’s time to get a replacement heroic captain. This one’s getting used up. Unless, of course, you think that no mind keeps secrets better than a blank one…

Apropos to absolutely nothing at all, Hebrew and other Semitic languages are normally written without vowels. You still need to mentally fill them in, as Brewster presumably is doing.

There. I’ve just given UClick my factoid for the day. :))

Could be worse - me might have irritable vowel syndrome (that, of course, is where you use twice as many vowels)!

Johanan, right you are about Hebrew. Studied it for a couple of years. The lack of vowels did run into some problems. Hebrew’s based on a three-consonant word root, so some roots are essentially the same without the vowels – gets confusing. In modern Hebrew, the vowels are added in the form of dots and dashes above and below. Fun language.

Doing without vowels, pssh. Try doing without grammatical tenses, personal pronouns or most verbs. You’d almost have to be Chinese!

Vowel movement? Dr. Toon, do you realize the Argyle Sweater did that long ago?

rac0309, I think we have–the third one at least. But the second I can’t say I remember that one…

As for the comic…shoot I can’t think of a good pun.

There was a novel called “A Void” which didn’t use the letter E once. It was a mystery involving the disappearance of A. Vowl.

If you can’t do a proper brain probe, limit yourselves to politicians who would never get elected — like DJT for example. What could go wrong?
