So that’s not REALLY a “death ray” per se maybe it’s the remote for the TV?

Brewster’s easily distracted; for birth control his girl friend slips him a stick of gum.

Would the technically adept among you please tell me how you would get TV signals on the Moon?

sandfan: TV signals are RF and propagate in all directions from the transmitter. When the moon’s overhead, there’s a line of sight from the transmitter, so the signals will reach the moon. Of course, they’ll be a lot weaker–TV signals on earth only travel about 50-100 miles, tops, so on the moon they’ll be attenuated by a factor of maybe ten million or so (inverse square law and all that). But they will be there, and with a large antenna (think the dishes in the California desert that pick up the signals from space probes out by Saturn) and a big honkin’ amplifier, it’s not only possible, it’s pretty straightforward.

I see it now; they use the death ray to force the people of Earth to give them free cable, complete with unscrambled porn channels! It’s brilliant!

Once he turns on that big-screen TV, Brewster will turn into an idiot!

    Oh…….that’s right……never mind….
