I get it that he’s no longer a plumber. But how did he become a corporal?

Part of a computer simulation? Characters in a video game?

Part of a daily comic strip? Nah. … In the Matrix? … Maybe …

If life is a computer simulation, why did I get stuck with a sims player who enjoys making their characters miserable? Think about when you first played Sims. How many of you took the ladder out of the pool so your Sims characters would drown? Or Plunked a gay character into a community of straight people, or vice versa? Or did some other ironic/cruel trick to your unfortunate character? Now compare that to the way things work in your life. I think that proves we are in a simulation.

I got my fill of hearing this “theory” from Scott Adams podcasts (punctuated with a doper chuckle) before I finally quit listening to them.

There was a book some years back by Louis Charbenneau (sp?) called SImulacron Three which posed just this same question.

It’s just the illusion created by our own minds that makes this living play seem like a simulation.

We are all characters in it and can change our script anytime we want to.
