Serious answer to silly question: The significance of the “interstate” highways in Hawai’i is that they are owned and maintained by the federal government rather than by the state, and therefore fall under the rules and jurisdiction of the Interstate Highway System even though they never leave that state. And they’re not designated like the “true” interstate highways as “I-101” or “I-57”, but are numbered “H-1”, “H-2” and “H-3.”
From About.com: “Any highway built under the auspices of the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956 and funded by the federal governent is called an interstate highway, even if it doesn’t cross state lines. In fact, there are many local routes that lie entirely within a single state funded by the Act.”

They have an Interstate there for the same reason they have cars. To get from one end of the island to the other. lol

How did we get on to highways? I thought they were going deep see diving.

Gaylord doesn’t really seem too eager to go to Hawaii in the first place….

doubtful skins-fan; the front of Broomie’s Plymouth resembles a 1957/1958 model, while the ‘cuda was produced from 1964-1974.
Maybe a Concord?
