Broomie, if you weren’t hovering right in the middle of an intersection, that gridlock might dissolve itself! (Well, it’s all just a cloud-based imaginary scenario for Broomie, anyway).
Yup — I heard this when I was a kid — 60 years ago….still waiting. I don’t think we need to fly at 10,000 feet. They could just be hovercrafts and we could use the same highways. Here in Michigan, it would solve the problem of all the expressways “going back to gravel.”

Its difficult enough with todays airplains with air traffic controllers. Then put world highway traffic in the air, God help us.
