I track cliche cartoons (hey, everyone should have a hobby), and desert island cartoons are only the second most common. I have over four times as many Grim Reaper cartoons. (But I don’t even bother counting psychiatrist cartoons; just too many.)
Is that what they call ‘breaking the third wall’ in comics? (I don’t like the phrase, it makes me think of a triangular room. Second wall for 2-d maybe.)
