So are ATV’s. Now that we live in a rural area, we can hear coming a mile away.

I don’t really think it’s true about them being safer. But what is true is that more drivers daydream about hitting the noisy bikes.

Her old Plymouth sounds a lot like a lot of the cars in my old high school parking lot back in the late fifties…

You could buy a ’ 50 Ford for ten bucks…And a lot of kids did…..Rater surprised Broomy doesn’t drive a Hudson Hornet…They were really cheap…Some folks would pay YOU to take it….

Maybe Broomhilda’s car is powered by magic. She just doesn’t have any engineering skills.

Well, silent can be dangerous – and this is a problem for electric vehicles. But once you’re loud enough to be heard, everything above that is just noise pollution.

True… especially if that car dies soon.

They should be able to hear that one, even with their earbuds on.

If I was thinking about safety in a bike I would probably think about ABS brakes, be able to turn in something less than a 10 mt radius, collision control (and probably airbags; yes, those exist for bikes, and even there are jackets with airbags) and a chassis intended for maneuverability, plus something related to safety invented in at least the last 40 years. That, as opposed to an old noisy truck engine in a toaster.

Ironically, the only thing from USA that more or less fits in that description was designed by a German company dedicated to design sports cars (Harley Davidson V-Rod), and even more ironically, it was discontinued because people from USA still prefer their noisy toasters
