    By now scanners are in supermarkets. Maybe the corner bodega would not have a scanner, but supermarkets all have them.

    Due to liability issues, she as a cashier cannot stand on a box, nor can she hover on her broomstick. The store will have to put her in charge of the self-checkout lines
