In Custer’s day there was another brilliant young officer by the name of Emory Upton who was sometimes seen as a rival to Custer. I once came across an excerpt from a report by one of their superior officers evaluating the two that read “Upton is Custer’s equal in dash and by far his superior in brains”.
I do not believe that display is honest; no Indian would waste a piece of bread shooting it with his bow and arrow. This is museum hoax! Don’t fall for it , Broomie! (But we know you will, sadly.)
