Several places that kept tip jars and keep the change jars had to put lids on and chain them down!

Surprising that tip jar hasn’t already been pilfered by someone who’s not “cuddly and honest”.

Not relevant, but did you know “tips” backward is “spit”?

I had an ice cream cone yesterday. Despite receiving a small bit of change from a tenner, I did drop the remainder in the tip jar. Who knew that cows were so greedy?!?

This one bothers me a little because I have never in my entire life seen someone try to shame a customer into using the tip jar.

I never used to put money in a tip jar, since there wasn’t table service. I started with the pandemic because I was aware that the stores were really in danger of going out of business, and I really didn’t want them to.

This is a sad commentary on the “Merican” way of life, or lack there of. It’s sad that any working person should have to survive on the charity of others. In the civilized world people are paid a living wage and tipping is unheard of and in some places even considered rude.

I believe in tipping. I also believe in tipping in relationship to the service that I received. I do not believe in mandatory tipping.

Cuddly? No. Honest? No. That must be the ice cream talking.

Once, at a Country Buffet, the cashier asked me if I wanted change so I could leave a tip. The nerve!

I love the scene in Seinfeld where George drops a tip in the jar just as the employee turns away from him. George then tries to take the money out of the jar so he can drop it in when the employee can see him, but the employee only catches George making the withdrawal.

Broomie’s going soft in her old age (luckily for the ice cream vendor)….
