    Psychological warfare? His original target was the cookie but he knew the mother wouldn’t give him one, so he tried to ask for far worse things to tire her out and give in.

    I used to do this kind of thing. When we stopped at a Dairy Queen, I would always ask my mother for a large cone and she would say a small one and then I would say medium and she would agree. I figured out fast that if I asked for a medium I would have no bargainging room. You learn to negotiate early in life.
