Awww calvin acts all tough in front of rosalyn but when with hobbes he’s SCARED

Looking at the fourth panel, I can see how Calvin’s hands could, in anybody else’s eyes, be seen as holding Hobbes as he runs. Bill Watterson strikes again with the ambiguity whether Hobbes is alive or stuffed… or just stuffed with tuna fish sandwiches!

Bmonk—good eye! I was just thinking, since it’s supposed to be kind of ambiguous, “Now, does Rosalyn see Calvin holding Hobbes or is she looking away so Hobbes can really run?”

They won’t get far. Ros should make popcorn and wander out in the yard with the fragrant and enticing bowl. Calvin is undoubtedly cowering behind a tree wondering what she’s been doing. She should ignore him and return to house, “accidentally” dropping pieces of popcorn behind her. Will Calvin figure out the ruse?

Eheheh, this is Calvin and Hobbes for ya, making Rosalyn run like that… And in cleats, too! XD

he did do a great job to make it look like he is holding hobbes, but yet at the same time he is running. so great. i love this one.

2 men are walking in the jungle when a tiger starts to stalk them. One of the men stops to put on his running shoes. The other man says, “What are you doing? you can’t outrun a tiger!” The other man says, “I don’t have to outrun the tiger, I just have to outrun you!!” :-)

I’m going to have to disagree. Both of Calvin’s hands are in front of Hobbes, so there’s no way he can be holding him.
