Drystyha says: Lived in North Carolina for a few years. Once had an inch of snow, enough to cover the roads. At that time the city had no plowing equipment and weren’t prepared for it. EVERYTHING stopped, including school! But I was running around in my liitle MG because I was used to it!   Which one did you have? I had a ‘56 MGA. Very fun little car.

Dad… relax….. Having a wall around your house is a perfectly good reason not to go to work… you should be thanking “that kid”.

I’m crossing my fingers for snowmen!

hahahahhahahhhhahaaaaaaa!!! I did THE VERY same thing, when I was a kid! I needed a wall for a grudvanje(snowball fight) with my younger sister. Dad had to use hammer to destroy the wall, and I’m REALLY glad I wasn’t there in the morning, when he found out that he doesn’t have enough time to clean the path, and that he is forced to go to job on foot at WAY below zero Celsius :D

Yes, wndrwrthg: snow-goons can’t climb over ice walls, or metabolise solid ice (though they CAN metabolise powdery snow easily).

I have the same problem and I have no kids. Whenever the county comes to plow our streets they completely block my driveway. Our snow is very wet here so when I go to shovel my way out it’s like shoveling set concrete.

I think some of our snow drifts (and plowed banks) will still be around on the 4th of July. Say, I wonder if a snowball fight works to celebrate national independence? (Does anyone in Canada do that?)

That’s right and it’s so frustrating! Sometimes we can’t even get in the driveway because of that, we have to park across the street and then shovel it out before we can enter our driveway.

I recall taking sort of a “running jump” in my car and making it most of the time. Once I did end up having to shovel the car out of the pile of snow I landed in instead.

Calvin is rather mischievous, I wonder if he knows that it will interfere with his dad? Anyway I have always enjoyed Calvins epic snow building adventures. From the most outrageous and wonderful snowmen to impregnable forts of snow and ice you can count on Calvin to make you smile.

@Calvinator it’s probably because tigers grow in India, so Hobs still didn’t get used to side effect of wintertime glittering joy :)

@1RF you’re right, I’m from Beograd(Belgrade),SRB. By the way, “hogar.strashni” means “Hagar the Horrible” which is my favourite comic strip :) Спасибо @JohnD17! Мне показалось что славянское сообщество здесь уже многочисленныe? :)

hagar.strashni, not all tigers are Indian (though the majority of extant wild tigers are) or even tropical; you’ve forgotten about Siberian (aka Manchurian) tigers.

No snowball fights where I am but to celebrate July 1 we sometimes hold a midnight golf tournament. That’s right, we are far enough north that it is light enough.
