He’s not a disgrace. He is an opportunist.

Hobbes favorite hunting ground is the kitchen. I could go for a tuna fish sandwich myself, or some noodles right about now.

Hobbes can hunt with his instinct. He can also use imaginary numbers and calculus because of instinct ? A versatile tiger indeed.

Check up on leopards as well Calvin–Hobbes was teaching you to sit (hidden) in a tree and wait for prey to come underneath!

But that’s what cats *do*: they sit around waiting to ambush whatever comes. Or prowl looking, but waiting is better.

True bald, except that tigers are usually ground-stalkers (I’m not sure they can climb trees, though they can make vertical jumps of 10’ plus (*)) rather than arboreal.

(*) documented cases of tigers actually jumping on top of Asian elephants, in a battle neither can win (elephant cannot easily dislodge tiger, but is too big for tiger to kill–however, the talons can inflict lots of painful injuries)

My cat is a great hunter. However, she likes to bring her trophys into the house, dead or alive. I liberate chipmonks, mice, lizards etc. every day.

When I was a kid, my cat used to bring home fresh kill every day. It was my job to clean the guts off the doorstep. Mice, birds, squirrels, rabbits, small children, whatever. Calvin would’ve liked her.

My cat used to bring the dead birds into the house and eat them there. All I would find would be a pile of feathers or occasionally a foot. Not even any blood.

Apparently our kitty doesn’t like tails. She will devour the mousy, then bring us the tail trophy.

Calvin doesn’t get it…Hobbes just instictually figured out that he could get a sandwich and some soup by going inside…Calvin needs to pick up on those subtle cues, then he can learn how to hunt like a Tiger!

My cat hunted down the mouse through the early hours of the morning but in the end it was my chihuahua that scored the kill.

N7326F; it’s possible that your cat is bringing you presents, since you treat it so well.

OR, it thinks perhaps you are just over-sized kittens, who have to be fed until you are old enough to be taught to hunt. (Has it ever tried to teach you?)

Hobbes’ instinct was that if he kept Calvin in the tree long enough (and it wouldn’t take long) he would be able to score a soup and sandwich.
