Hmm, bees generally target furry objects which they see as a threat. Wonder why it didn’t land on Hobbes?

Calvin’s shirt is red and black like a bulls-eye Jor-El maybe that is the answer or maybe Hobbes is playing a prank on Calvin.

What’s Hobbes worried about? For that matter, what’s Pooh worried about? They’re both stuffed with fluff; bee stings can’t affect them.

Reminds me of an Old Joke I used to play - works especially well at outdoor ball games. Start out by having someone guess the letter bee-ing drawn on their back with a finger. Doesn’t matter which letter - draw several of them. Then when U draw out the letter “B” & they guess correctly,.. give them a friendly Slap on the Back - Yelling BEE!

U’d think I did this as a kid - did it as an adult to kids. Doesn’t work so well on adults - they probably did it as kids themselves.

Enjoy Life! - Play Ball If U Can = instead of Sitting In The Bleachers

or maybe she read it in a book? this isn’t the only place C&H has ever been. why do some people persist in being suspicious of the “wolf family” anyway? i prefer to accept all comments at face value and ignore the ones i don’t feel like reading, and i don’t understand why that is so hard for some others to do.

Can’t help wondering: Reading a comic book doesn’t damage it in any way; in fact, coming along later you couldn’t even tell someone else had been reading the comic book earlier. So why does Calvin fret?

     •  Reply
  36. Treeofpeace
    mjw22307  over 15 years ago

Calvin frets because he can’t be there to keep an eye on Hobbes and make sure he takes good care of his comics… you know because of the apparent bee on his back. Either that or he’s just stingy.

All I know for sure is that Hobbes is a riot lol

I remember this one as well. But I did not read this in the dailies. I only read the Sunday comics back then. But now with the internet…

I own the “Authoritative Calvin & Hobbes” book, printed in 1990. If I remember any of these strips, it’ll be because it was in this book, though there were a number of other C&H books in print at the time, including 3 treasure collections.

Some people are just way too cynical. And maybe they should think, before they start making accusations.
