See this is why I have the opinion that all education should happen through YouTube.(Seriously, I do think that YouTube is a powerful educational tool, though not really because of this.)
No problemo, Calvin, as you’ll soon be auto-switching back tothe Calvin Channel…. La Wormwood hasn’t a chance in Hades of locking you on her channel. Granted, her constantinterruptions are annoying, but such is life.
Ah, how I weep for America. It’s true. Children don’t like school, and understandably so. The American school system is based off of the Prussian military academy. They don’t teach. They just get people to memorize random facts and follow orders.
I’m not sure why Ms Wormwood bothers. Calvin’s going to fail that class anyway.
I always hated history in elementary and high school. It was always the same thing — a bunch of dates to memorize and people I didn’t care a whit about. And always the same US-centric view of things. It wasn’t until post-grad that I got interested in history — and realized what a pathetic, limited, dry, one-sided view of history I was inflicted with in elementary and high school.

@ PixieJane: “I’ve noticed the History Channel includes plenty of scifi and paranormal lore disguised as history documentaries. Not complaining, mind you, but it appears to be one more channel drifting away from its target audience to pull in more viewers. I did like their special on alien abductions no matter how cheesy it was and IIRC that’s also the channel where they try to face off warriors from different cultures to see who would win (while ignoring important details lilke how regimented or individualistic a society was which can make a real difference in a one on one fight as well as how easy a society is to actually assimilate once conquered) and my favorite was when they did one of I think 3 vampires vs. a hundred zombies!”

Yes—it has gotten almost as bad with reality programming, paranormal, and other stuff (pawn shops anyone?) that there is little history there anymore. Sad.
.
Maybe that’s why it is repeating itself so much? Because there is nobody who remembers history who watches it?

Pretty sure Miss Wormwood was alive in 1654 – she’s ancient!

You just know Wormwood does evil things to those kids, when she can get away with it.

Calvin switched the program to the SciFi Channel, but Miss Wormwood changed it back to the History Channel.

There are countless planets beyond our solar system. I’m guessing there are only so many ways they can look, and a few might resemble Saturn.

Well, either you in your rocket ship or Bruno Z. in his starship should be able to identify the planet.

I like the idea of changing the channel when some people are talking…… but since no one’s invented a way to do that…………I just tune them out!

Oh Man what a face. Enough to make a kid urinate in his pants. They should record that face for horror shows.
