Yeah, people will pay extra for programming like that.

Remember when cable was only 8-12 bucks a month, and you only sprang for it if you were in a weak signal area where you had bad reception on the three major channels?

If your Dad, Calvin, Doesn’t like Calvin-TV, he certainly isn’t going to like Calvin-Cable…especially since it was relatively expensive in those days! He’d just cut off your allowance and dump the whole thing! ;)

I agree with you about Becker. Now that Doc’s don’t want to give you a script for painkillers my favorite Doc’s are Becker, Pepper and Kervorcian.

The idea was already taken by sitcom and commercial writers YEARS ago. Except for Bill Cosby, I can’t remember any recent program where fatherhood was treated with respect.

Wow! Does anyone else remember “Father Knows Best”? How’d I get so old?

That’ll be cancelled just minutes into the first episode, Calvin.
Lomax9er7 about 10 years ago
Too late Calvin, a lot of sit-coms have already done that concept.

In the first episode, Spaceman Spiff brings home a friendly space alien named Zilch, and introduces him to his father….In the second episode, Mom still doesn’t know Zilch. In Episode 3, Calvin is sent to the principal’s office for daydreaming about extraterrestrial life. The principal, Mr. Spittle, tells Calvin that there is no proof of life on other planets. Calvin replies, “You don’t know Zilch!”In Episode 4, Calvin and Hobbes get into a confusing discussion while playing baseball with Zilch:“Who is on first?”“Zilch!”“Nobody?”“Zilch!”(Etc.)After Episode 4, the humor begins to grow a bit thin.

@Retired DudeOh, yeah! And then there were the westerns. I had a bit of a crush on Hopalong Cassidy.

Number Six said, about 8 hours agoI don’t know about the States but in Britain, tv presenters have got louder. -———They are not really louder – they just sound louder.

I bought an antenna with a rotator, put it in the attic, and ditched cable on Wednesday! Although the antenna wasn’t free, the savings from no cable bill will recoup the cost in less than two months!.Free TV at last! Well, except for the commercials, anyway…

I would like to see that list.

Sorry, Calvin, we already have a show called “Father Knows Zilch.” I believe the alternate title is “Family Guy.”..(I would have said the Simpsons, but Homer does actually use his brain sometimes. Married with Children is out of the running because it’s no longer on air.)

Not much of an audience for that show other than EVERY TEENAGER IN THE WORLD.

“Father Knows Zilch?” Wasn’t that known as “Home Improvement?”

Well that’s what can happen not often when you disturb the peace.
