I’m trying to remember if I used the word “insolent” when I was 6 years-old.

What a life, Hobbes! I remember being a little girl and being envious when my Mom was laid off and had two or three months at home (unfortunately, there was a downside to this as she had to live on unemployment…). I didn’t like school and wanted to stay home forever! ;)

Watterson definitely had cats. I could swear mine give me a smug look when I leave for work in the morning.

Kind of like going on vacation in September, when everyone else is back at work. Prices are lower, and it’s fun to be free when everyone else isn’t.

Insolent smirk: that brings back the days. I never knew what it meant, I thought I was just trying to smile nicely (while I was getting yelled at again).

I used to think this cartoon was what retirement was all about. then I retired? Boy was I wrong!
