Great line, from a time everyone had a CRT desktop and you actually needed a screen saver to prevent “burning in.” Calvin has created a whole new set of “good old days” for me.
@Hobbes (and whomever else it may concern),I’m screaming for you to see my comment (response) from yesterday. Maybe you were looking at your screensaver and missed it.
@Puddleglum: I saw your reply yesterday but I didn’t reply, figuring that if I replied to your reply, you might reply to my reply to your reply, and then I would need to reply to your reply to my reply to your reply, and then………Comments?Wait ! ……………. No ! ………………
It’s called Attention Deficit with hyperfocus. I could do that, too, as a child. Because I could hyperfocus, I didn’t believe that I could have ADHD for many years. The authorities in our society define it to be a disorder only because we don’t pay attention to THEM when we have more important things to do.
I actually daydream a lot. When I’m listening to music, I pretend I’m the one that’s singing even though I can’t sing for toffee.Or chocolate. Or fizzy cola bottles.xxx

Does Mrs. Wormwood know, what a screen saver is?

Calvin’s eyes were on screen saver, but when Miss Wormwood startled him, apparently his brain was not on scream saver.

And his ears were on ignore. Happens to me all the time. Especially when the wife talks.

Eyes on “screen saver” and audio “off.” My wife accuses me of being in that mode often. She thinks it’s a mental deficiency; I think it’s a talent.

Man, 20 years ago and a screen saver reference. I didn’t even remember that screen savers were being used that long ago. Everything makes me feel old.

Whenever I read the comics, I always imagined Miss Wormwood with June Foray’s old lady voice.
