I think Mom was just too tired to argue. She should have said, No – it’s OK to honestly say you want all the pie, but then you have to realise that other people want some second helpings too. My own mum forestalled such entitled demands with the adage ‘I want doesn’t get’. ‘Please may I have….’ was far more likely to be successful.

I don’t understand this: normally I thrive on quirky, but I don’t get this one.

Well, he wouldn’t be dishonest by saying he WANTS the whole piece of pie and grumbled about getting only half. He would still be selfish.

Happy 30th anniversary of C&H guys-today was the first day in 1985 November 18th when the newspapers and bill waitperson’s first book had been released! Hip Hip HURRAY!

Is it just me, or is Calvin getting overly aggressive? To me, he is not very funny anymore.

What was missing here was manners. He’s got ‘em but he didn’t use ’em, so until he did the pie shoulda stayed in the pan.
