Wait until Mothra shows up.

Such an excellent depiction of children at play though. This has ALWAYS been one of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes strips—I can’t tell you how many of my friends and I played like this!

I loved Godzilla as a kid :-)

I never went for those monster movies. They make B-movies look good.

The only movie that ever scared me as a kid was a Z movie (B is way too high) called “The Killer Shrews.” The shrews were portrayed by mongrels with plastic teeth.

In my teens a friend introduced me to the wonderful world of Godzilla. We would cheer for him. Love him still.

Godzilla should leave japan alone & attack china

Now I’m thinkin’ about that Blue Oyster Cult song, “Godzilla”!

I’d hate to see what he would have done to Hiroshima.

When I was little we’d play a game I invented where we would build giant skyscrapers out of our blocks, put little plastic animals on all the floors, and then “bomb” the skyscrapers with a couch cushion to see how far the animals would fly. I think we had at least as much fun as Calvin does!

Now if only we had a costume for Godzilla.

Absolute classic strip. Also depicts something I played more than once as a kid.
