After you stamp them, you can take them inside and show them to your Mother.

Isn’t better to put them on plastic bags? I did that on field trips. It’s better if they are not squished. You can scare people with them and even lose your fear of them if you stare long enough.

I can imagine kids aren’t given the “carbon tet” jars any more. AKA “kill jars”—there was some kind of solid medium in the bottom impregnated with carbon tetrachloride; you popped your bug inside, screwed the cap back on and waited. In a few seconds, it would be dead and ready to pin. Ahhh, the 70s….

Makes them easier to put on display.

Calvin’s parents would never let him collect bugs…if he collected stamps they’d still complain…

Calvin better hope he is never shot by a shrink ray like in Honey I Shrunk The Kids.

Nice to see that Calvin is learning the art of compromise at a young age. Not sure the bugs would agree.
