The story does have happy ending.

Moral of story: Don’t read stories with morals.

Happy Ending: He stays in the basement so his parents have peace.

Calvin once: This a great story about us if it doesn’t end!

Does this story end?

Subtle, but effective!

Not so much a moral as a not-so-thinly veiled threat.

There went that 15 minutes, Nikki.

So, is the moral of the story is that children shouldn’t annoy their parents? But that’s the very reason we are born for! You are taking our identity!

Children should be able to control their parents’ behavior naturally out of need, not out of whim. Calvin’s testing his power, and Dad just unplugged him. Chalk up one for Dad!

I love the fancy “O” at the start of the story.

That’s too hard, Dad!!

And what are the tigers doing, LE?

I thought this was going to be the one where the dad changed the “Huey Hamster” story into one with a violent ending. One of my favorites.

I have a feeling Calvin’s not going to sleep after that story.

Happy Ending: Calvin gets the last laugh as he STAYS in the basement until he’s 42.

Why doesn’t Hobbes read Calvin a story? We know he has superior tiger reading and writing skills…

My kids know how to get their way when Dad says no. They go ask Mom, who says yes and leaves me the mess.

Time for a Watterson comeback.

This should have happened to Trump. No one ever told him “no,” and look what we’ve got.

Sneaky Calvin finds a fingernail file and digs his way out. Or Spaceman Spiff beams himself in, blows the door down, and takes Calvin on a spaceride to Zork. Or… Think again, Dad!

Thanks Leading Edge, I forgot about the story of Samba with the tigers. When I was very young I could never figure out how the tigers turned to butter, but the pancakes always sounded yummy to eat. :D
