“Here’s a flyer for a photo competition. If you don’t win, I take Hobbes and the camera.”

That’s why I slowed down on taking pictures. Not just the roll but the developing.

It’s a different world now, but I can’t imagine Calvin with a smartphone.

But then Hobbes was posing as a real tiger

30 years later and this strip is obsolete.

That film came in a “pack”, not a “roll”

Polaroid cameras. That takes me back.

It’s amazing how much technology has changed since the stripped was discontinued. Staple props of cartoonists now create confusing gags for newer readers. Telephones are another- you can’t do the same kinds of gags that were still current in the 80s and 90s.

I’d hate to look at the pictures I took at age six.

Calvin can get a job making calendars of posed stuffed animals.

I hate having my photo taken unless I take it myself.

People use Snapchat to make themselves look like dogs by adding ears and noses on their face.

Not sure why that’s the “fashion” but Hey Ho.

I don’t take pictures with my phone (I don’t have a Smartphone either) but I love the digital cameras. I don’t develop many pictures from my digital camera though. But I save them on my computer. It’s amazing how many pictures with fit on one camera disk or CD or flash drive these days. So much nicer than film cameras and you can even edit the pictures by cropping them to get out unwanted background clutter.
