Why does Calvin say “Oh well” in the last panel?

When I wash MY vehicle, I just get Rain showers. When Spiff washes HIS vehicle, he gets Meteor showers…

I sure hope that’s not the same sandbox that Hobbes uses!

In all these years, I never noticed that Spiff’s eyes change shape in his visor. Note Panel’s #3, #5 and #8.
