Genetics are a powerful thing.

Mom is a girl, so no way Hobbes is pouncing.

Every blue moon we get a hint that Mom knows Hobbes is more than a just a stuffed tiger, and that she played with him as a kid just as Calvin does now. Never any confirmation, just hints to keep us guessing, wondering, and talking about it.

When mom calls hobbes its almost like she knows he is real or wants to believe…

I like that the mum calls Hobbes. Sweet.

heh- this is a great one. Dad’s look in the third panel is just phenomenal. He’s like “what the— are you kidding me?” Mom’s embarrassment is perfect.

What we have here is a case of two crazies!

An all-time favorite!

I bet Hobbes was never lost in the first place and Calvin will claim that Hobbes walked into bed by himself.

Tigers are very good at hiding and Mom should have brought a tuna sandwich for him.

Calvin’s father is Calvin at an older age. Where else would Calvin get those ridiculous stories. But he gets his willingness to believe from his mother. It takes the two of them to make someone as special as Calvin.

Now we know where Calvin gets his vivid imagination from. Hobbes did, after all, used to belong to his mom. :)

Dad’s reaction at the end might’ve been good for instant gratification, but it probably also assured him of at least 1 night’s sleep on the couch …
