Max has proven his superior intelligence by not having any kids.

Eerily, my dad looks a LOT like Calvin’s, and one of my uncles – on my dad’s side – looks quite a bit like a balder version of Max. It really weirded me out as a kid.

It looks like Max is good with kids. You don’t have to have kids to be good with them.

Every part of this is magnificent. Max playing along to the point where he cowers as he leaves the room. Calvin’s surprise at an intelligent adult being related to his father. Hobbes completely misunderstanding the description.

The way that Uncle Max is drawn in frame #2 reminds me of the artwork in the Stone Soup strip. It may be the hands, in particular.

Interesting that we know “Dad’s” brother is named Max, but we NEVER find out Mom and Dad’s names…

I am really surprised that no one has mentioned how much Max looks like how Bill draws himself…
