When I was a kid, I thought Calvin had somehow pulled the chair back up onto the ceiling with him.

Don’t ask how that would work.

Stick to being a spaceman, Calvin. Obviously being a ninja isn’t working out for you.

Use the chair cushion to break your upward fall.

Calvin has an armchair in his room? I didn’t even have a desk.

Easy for Mom or Dad to say… but, it’s not easy being Calvin.

You can’t even blame this one on Hobbes, Calvin!

Have you tried reversing the spin on the gravitons? (Yes I know gravitons likely don’t exist, and would likely be spinless if they did. So don’t bug me!)

I would have thought that Mom would put a stop to this by now.

Whenever we heard a loud “thunk” in our house, we would go and investigate. With my younger son, it was worth while. One day we were in the kitchen (his room was behind the kitchen) and we heard a loud bang on the wall.

He yelled out “I’m OK.” I asked, “Is the house OK?” It wasn’t. He was practicing his “form” with the discus and it slipped out as he moved his arm back. I spent the weekend patching the wall.

So if Calvin touches everything in the house, it will be normal for him again!

Gravity polarity reversal does funny things.

As I mentioned on Monday, Mom’s off-screen instruction to Calvin is the same at the beginning and the end of this first week of the story arc.

I found with both kids and grandkids, that it is when they are being really quiet, that there is trouble brewing.

Calvin’s voice bubbles and shouts are all upside-down because his gravity is reversed, but why is Mom’s?

Vivid memories from 75 years ago; I would have repeated dreams about being able to lift up a floorboard in my upstairs bedroom in our ancient farmhouse and slip thru to the other side where I could fly simply by lifting my shins, gaining no altitude but would wind up bumping into trees, barns and animals like William Katt in the short-lived “Greatest American Hero” TV show from years ago. Weird stuff for a 7-8 year old to digest.

Calvin lives in a quantum universe in which reality dosent exist until it is observed by others.
