Calvin clearly has sleep issues.

And Calvin wonders why he gets pestered to wake up every morning.

And just how is a hydro bomb is supposed to vanquish a sleeping monster, Spiff?

Spaceman is in spiffing form today.

This will NOT end well for Spaceman Spiff!

Little does our “hero” know that his hydro bomb is going to unleash the full fury of the space monster!

Brings back memories for our son. Had trouble falling asleep. Smart kid, never used the hydro bomb. Wonder how his kids are treating him

Some weeks ago the snow, now the water: at least is an improvement.

… and a precocious 7 yo lives a shortened life.

Death wish, pure & simple…

Dad’s rude awakening is about to get ruder.

I’m not entirely sure that the hydro bomb is good idea at this stage.

This is where we prepare to leave Earth.

The natives power up for a full nelson and complete flying reality check upon the gnat of irritation.

This doesn’t not end well…

how does that little red space ship get through atmospheres like the Earth’s

A real wonder that Calvin hasn’t been chained inside a dark basement closet by now!

I’m guessing Spiff is going back to bed with the high possibility of a paddling…

if we go any farther it’ll be a chase seen

Am I the only one who sometimes has to cover the final panel with my hand so my eyes don’t drift over & give away what the adventure really is?

Fun fact: “Zounds” is a shorter form of “God’s wounds,” referring to Jesus’s wounds on the cross.

He needs a cup of warm milk and some Melatonin. :P

Q: where’s Mom? Because if the female space monster gets wet, Spaceman Spiff is going to be in real trouble.

Okay, Dads next project will be to put a dead bolt on their door, after he creams Spaceman Spiff, of course.

The reason we never find out what Calvin becomes as an adult is that he doesn’t live that long.

Hydro-bomb? It appears more like the self destruct event.

The creature is about to become a whole lot more hostile…

Calvin’s about to be lost in space

“Sleep water-bombing” is a serious issue in pre-adolescent comic strip characters.

The transformation from tracer bullet to spaceman spiff is pretty swift. The poor father is about to get a dose of hydro at the dead of night. One of the reasons why Calvin has no sibling.

Calvin better pretend he is sleep walking-FAST!
