It’s ironic but what a difference a day makes. Yesterday, his mom wasn’t too concerned about Calvin being freezing cold. In fact she actually ordered Calvin to stay cold and not turn the thermostat up!
In a house I had long ago, there was a wood burning fireplace. One of the dogs and a cat would see me carrying in firewood and race over to park themselves right in front to hog the best spots.

They’re both right. A warm seat by the fireplace with a full belly and a good drink is winning the war against winter. …some folks aren’t doing that.
