One Sunday evening I asked my parents if they could help me with a similar type of project. Dad asked, “When is it due?” I answered, “Tomorrow.” He asked, “When did you find out about it?” I told him, which was a couple of weeks previous. He said, “You got yourself into this situation, you get yourself out.” I managed to squeak out a B with very little sleep, and I don’t procrastinate as much anymore…hardly at all!

My kids used to do something similar to me. I’d get stuck making their science project or have to urgently sign their permission slips that had to be in that day. What do these kids learn in school, procrastination? They couldn’t have learned it from me. I’m a closet procrastinator. I figure I can admit tomorrow if I ever decide to come out of the closet. ;-p

Reminds me of my child. When she was about eleven or twelve did the same thing to me about a report on Oklahoma. We had to stay up late and do the whole thing in one night!

I was actually like this too when it came to my school assignments. I remember one assignment where we had to interview a family member about their life, and write a paper and present a visual to the class. I put it off until the day it was due, and quickly asked my grandfather questions when he was driving me to school.
