I can relate, in China expatriates do something very similar; “you found Honey Nut Cheerios??? WHERE?!” or “Where did you ever find real French bread?” or “I found the best place to get New Zealand lambchops and it’s not expensive!”
Okay, it’s all about food, but after eating oily stir-fry day in and day out (real Chinese food is VERY OILY) you’d be prepared to kiss anyone who could tell you where to get decent pizza (I can help you with that).

Makes me grateful for the variety we get here in the west. It would be awful to have to eat the same boring thing day in and day out.

The only problem with this social network, is that it can get really ugly if people get off on the wrong foot… or worse, suffer from an outbreak of the dread F1M1 virus, otherwise known as ‘Foot In Mouth Disease’.

Don’t worry ejcapulet, I know people that live in other foreign countries and its the same way. Lucky charms? JIF Peanutbutter? Where?

I can understand just a little of what ejcapulet is going through. Two weeks in Africa was hard on this picky eater (& my husband, who is also picky.) We were so glad to find a restaurant that served pizza, even if it was oregano pizza.

I am glad I do not relate to Cathy on this strip. Me just pt I can’t afford too much. I am unable to get full time I have tried. And with Cathy I guess I could say she does the opposite of me and shops I can’t. When I hear others say they buy things I think to myself good for them.
