It’s not a good day when that happens. Bigger clothes are not the answer though.

LibrarianInTraining, now that song is stuck in MY head too.

Too bad she hasn’t ever been pregnant, nothing like maternity jeans for these temporary ills.

So true and horribly funny. Makes a good excuse to buy clothes. Cathy haven’t you learned yet to control your eating. Doesn’t hurt if you get hungry.

You know, there’s nothing wrong with how Cathy looks. So she doesn’t live up to society’s exaggerated standards. So what? It’s not a “requirement” that you have to fill so you’ll be pretty. It’s a dumb stereotype that was most likely thought up by an immature teenage boy.

Banana Slug, while agree with you about fitting society’s stereotypes, I also have to caution extremism. Being extremely skinny isn’t healthy. To the other extreme, obesity isn’t healthy, either.

People often ask me if I’m anorexic because I only weigh 108 pounds. But I eat practically all day. I have a fast metabolism and a small stomach, and eat rather slowly.

On the other hand, when I tell people my husband weighs 208 pounds, they ask me if he’s fat. But He isn’t. He’s 6’6” and, while he does have a little erm…. “pooch” around his belly, he’s hardly obese.

Find a weight that’s healthy for you, and don’t boil it down to some number on a scale or size on clothing.
