Recursive introspection is a frequent theme in this strip. The joke is wearing thin. Maybe I should say “wore thin” since these are ancient reruns, but other themes bear repetition better.
This strip is clearly not for the unenlightened man. The rest of us absolutely “get” Cathy, and we women see ourselves in her whether we want to or not…
If Cathy was so concerned about “feeling weird” regarding her date with Irving then why on earth did she agree to go out with him?!? Cathy’s definitely weird and she’s not happy unless she drags everyone down that same path of weirdness right along with her . . . whether they want to go or not!!!!!
I found it funny, and I am a man.In many situations I have started to wonder whether the situation is supposed to be weird, ironic, freighted with emotion or just business as usual

If you don’t like the strip, don’t read it. Why do you think people care about your opinion?

I enjoyed this one. It makes sense that it would feel weird. I don’t get why people who don’t like a comic in general read it and then diss it.
