LOL! So true! House work looks so simple, but it’s really a lot of effort.Good morning Susan, you’re up late/early. My husband doesn’t help out either. Fortunately he doesn’t care if the silver is polished, the tablecloth is ironed or if the house is shining. Aaron and Billy, I hope you’re having a safe trip. I would say watch out for all the lunatics on the road, but I think they’re mostly in Georgia, so that shouldn’t affect you. ;-) Hello to GsMom, Kfgrrl and all other Cathy nuts rolling around here today. I hope all of you who have tomorrow off are ready to enjoy some time with family and friends.

kind of sad that house chores that apply to both people’s house are considered “helping” when a guy does them. Also sad that the strip implies the wife was being harsh on the husband for asking him to do what she does regularly, for both their house.

So … wow, where to go with this. Mom thinks that putting dad in a near-catatonic state will keep him out of her hair. Makes me want to apologize to Cathy for every cruel thing I’ve said. Mom rubbed off on her, and not necessarily at Cathy’s fault.

    Hi gobblinup. Evening Mom!

~Billy: they should check dad’s pulse. My mom says a well-intentioned ‘no thanks dear’ would work wonders. At her most cruel, she’d say ‘no thanks dear, you be underfoot’. Then again, 44 years of marriage has them finely tuned as a couple.

Good trip home. Little Muttley Beagle yakked up on Aaron’s sneakers about half way home. He gets all excited about seeing my folks. See ya tomorrow gals!

Dad wasn’t the only person in a catatonic state by the time he got done reading his wife’s to-do list — I was too! No wonder Cathy’s a complete nut-job sometimes . . . crazy doesn’t fall far from the crazy tree!!!!!

    ;-)

Good evening Aaron (yuck regarding the sneakers!), Dr. Billy (hope your trip home has been an enjoyable one so far!), gobblinup, Susan, Kfg and all the rest of the Cathy fanatics here tonight. As always, good to “see” you all!

Hope everyone here has a really wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow! Enjoy your day but please try not to eat too much because it’s bad for you in more ways than one!!!!!

    ;-)

Wow, what a rush at the end of the day! First off, related to Cathy, I’ve got to say I agree with tegm about how it’s sad that guys only “help” with house chores, but it’s expected of women. The same could be said for childcare. A father taking care of his kids is usually overpraised and it is viewed as babysitting rather than being a father, which is a shame.Glad you made it home safely, Billy and Aaron! Sorry to hear about your shoes, Aaron. A good excuse to get new ones! :-) Hopefully the car doesn’t stink – that takes a while to go away. Poor Muttley, a sweet little dog can only handle so much excitement at once. Now only if Electra would throw up on Cathy…Hey GretchensMom! Let us know how your green bean casserole goes tomorrow! My recipe is different, but yours sounds good too. I plan on eating a lot tomorrow, but that’s really the exception for me rather than the rule, so I’m not too worried about it. Plus, I typically eat a little constantly, so I’ll probably get full quickly anyway. Enjoy your time with family and friends (or was it only friends?) tomorrow! You poor thing Kfgrrl!!! That is a long, long day that you had. Hopefully you’re a little more rested now and you’ll get a break soon. I’ll take your advice on the wine… my husband brought home 2 bottles today (gifts from work people) and he doesn’t drink wine, so I guess it’ll have to be me. The sacrifices I make… ;-) Thanks for your kind wishes for us U.S. folks. I know Canada celebrated Thanksgiving a couple of weeks ago, and I forgot to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving then, so a belated one to you and I’m sure everyone that you have helped in the ER is very thankful for you!! :-))
