I’ll be a gentlemen and let lightenup comment first, since at the hour of the morning, she and I have arrived at the same time (or close enough).

You’re so sweet, Aaron, and definitely a gentleman! :-) I’m struggling for an appropriate Cathy comment this morning… While I remember the days of dating and the holidays came around, which caused all sorts of agony about what to get the S.O. I didn’t want to get him some CDs and he got me some jewelry. So awkward… Now the fun part… Good morning, Susan and AaronClaus! I’m running a little late this morning, trying to get some things done in my crazy week. Aaron, I hope you’re doing okay. I read that you were up late – I hope you are okay. (hug)Hi KFG!! I’m guessing you’re resting now. I am constantly amazed on where you get all of your energy. Wherever it comes from, thanks for the smiles! :-)Hello rgcviper,GsMom and Billy!Hello to all the other Cathy nuts!! Thank you to the ones (BJIllistrated, hendelca) who spoke up yesterday and let us know you’re enjoying the comments. I hope you join us in saying hello and joining in the fun! I love getting to know people so feel free to share. If you’re a late commenter, we do go back to yesterday’s comments to read and respond.I apologize for this long comment, so in order to keep it short, I’ll just say hello to the ones who say hi back, but please know that all are welcome here and we’d love to hear from you!! If you don’t see your specific name, just remember we’re all Cathy nuts in the fruitcake of life… LOL!!

Degree of difficulty for a gift for Irving: -1. Come on now, as long as it’s tech and shiny, he’ll drool. If you buy him that tie you’re holding, things are gonna get awkward. And ugly. Like that tie. (Please! Not on a full stomach).

Morning lightenup. I make myself laugh sometimes, but I are a gentlemen in most circles. I’m fine this morning. 10:30 is normally late for me, so after midnight was a bummer. Just antsy about wanting to go back to work (which I can’t). Sigh.

Morning Susan who was here very early/late. I’ve found tech gets obsolete about a minute out of the box. But at some point it was current, so I just go with it. You would definitely do an eye-roll to see the tech Billy and I own. In our past life, we were nerds at a Jason Fox level.

Afternoon Mom! if you arrive today. Good morning/afternoon to our fellow quieter Cathyites. I agree with what Billy said last night. (Not about our ‘bullet’ beagle, about being nice to be here).

Cathy is taking a huge gamble with that ugly tie. A gadget would be better, but they can be personal too. Oh well. At least a tie can be taken back and the money can be spent on a gadget. lol Hi all! My email notice is back on the am shift. I like to see posts from the other “regulars” but the more the better. We can always use more newbies. I was a newbie to this crowd and they were very welcoming. So feel free to join a great group! :-)

If they give out bonus points, then I should win because buying for ALL of mine is difficult.

The first three panels reminded me of when I worked in a greeting card/gift store. Guys would come in the day before a holiday and ask me to put together a basket of “gifts” for their signifcant others, and I had to be enthused and cooperative! At least Cathy isn’t totally passing the gift-choosing off on the clerk!

All I can say is . . . thank God I’m married! Situations like this are nuttier than Cathy is and I’m so glad I don’t have to go through that anymore!!!!! ;-)

Good afternoon, AaronClaus, Billy Kringle, lightenup, K.F.G., Susan, nannygram, gmforde and all the rest of the Cathy fanatics joining us here today. So glad to “see” you all!

Hi all!!! I come here mostly to read the comments more so than the actual strip. I just love the friendly banter. I especially enjoy the comments from AaronClaus, lightenup, and GretchensMom!!!

Cathy!! Your “him” needs a gift that says you have a semblance of understanding of who he is. Romantic—no. Flirtatious—no. Thoughtful/practical—okay, go with that. Mysterious—no (trust me, you fill that ‘gift’ very nicely.) Aaron can do the ‘charming’ and I can do the ‘Utterly Ambiguous’ if you give me about 3 minutes.

First, taking a cue from GsMom and my avatar, picture Rudolph taking off after Clarice tells him he’s cute. That’s what Aaron said (convincely, by the way) at dinner when we were talking about today. “I’m cute! She says I’m cuuuuuuuute!”. LOL. Thanks for the ego enhancement GsMom it works wonders for his attitude.

It is just awesome to see “I only read” readers poking their heads in and saying Hi. Aaron and I were afraid we were a bit much. Well, maybe we are, but in a nice way. :-D

Hi to all fellow Cathy nuts!! Get him a toy for the dog — at least he might notice it. Who would ever even consider a tie for Irving?
