Mr Pinkley: Our company has to cut back because our clients are cutting back. Our clients are cutting back because their customers are cutting back because their companies are cutting back...See? We are one! We're all connected! Cathy: Why are we connected now that everyone's headed down the drain? When everyone was becoming a millionaire, I was all by myself!!

Oh boy, I hope this doesn’t turn into a political page today. Don’t fret, Cathy, I wasn’t part of the millionaire “crowd” either. Cathy outraged is not a pretty thing. Cathy spastic or running out of the mall in disgust is always much more appealing.
Morning fellow Cathyites. I saw Susan elsewhere hours and hours ago. Must be Wednesday.

Political comments on non-politcal comic strips are unwelcome. We come here for comics and entertainment. There is NOTHING on-topic about the previous comment. It’s economics and business. I’m sure 100% of our regulars here will agree.
So stuff it! We can do without the self-importance and smuggness of those type of comments. I don’t buy into ANYTHING political, and I’m in DC FYI.

Thanks Aaron! I get enough politics in one day already. I go to the funnies to get AWAY FROM POLITICS!!! It sounds like he’s trying to make an excuse for being a cheapskate.

Interesting that 11 years later, this strip is still so relevant.

I don’t remember if Cathy is one of the unemployed. I could cheat by looking at Wikipedia I guess. I’ll be patient instead.
Add my voice to this, not because he’s Aaron but because he’s right. This is business (poorly managed) and economics. If you see politics in this strip today, then you’re too smart for me. You may infer that Cathy’s company’s failures are caused by politicians. Consider that you might be wrong. I firmly believe we are quite capable of causing our own misery — or happiness.
We come here to be entertained. And as hendelca pointed out, we are multi-national. The ‘ca’ in his name means Canada. We are also multi-cultural. Some are Christian and some are not. Therefore preaching is also off-limits here. To assume only Americans read comics is lame. I can imagine GreggW’s comment set Aaron afire (pun intended). He must have calmed down considerably to reply as he did.
Why would you (I’m talking to you GreggW) even make such a statement? If anyone ever wanted a definition of arrogant, there you have it. If nothing else, you owe Aaron an apology. That was totally frickin’ rude.
And no cookies for you at bedtime tonight Mister!

Returning to our comments on today’s comic, cue the eye-roll once again. Although, Cathy does kinda have a point. Kinda.

Hi Cathyites!! Politics/economics or whatever, the comic is eerily just as relevant today as it was back when it was created. It’s sad that we never seem to learn.
I don’t mind political statements as long as they don’t get nasty and turn into name calling — unfortunately that is what nearly always happens today. I remember a time when folks who disagreed on politics, religion or any of the hot buttons of today could actually carry on some really interesting discussions about these topics. No longer possible because everyone becomes irate when folks don’t agree with them. And this has been propogated by the politicians themselves in order to win votes (“divide and conquer” I think it’s called).
