Mr Pinkley: Yes, Cathy, you still have a job. Cathy: Thank you, Mr. Pinkley! Mr Pinkley: In fact, because of all the cutbacks, you also have Tony's job, Lisa's job and Mark's job! If business tanks anymore, you'll also have Kim's job, Bob's job and Fran's job! You could finally have it all!! Cathy: What about having a life?? Mr Pinkley: Should have checked that off last decade!

Be careful what you wish for, Cathy! And what is this “life” of which you speak?

I don’t think that’s what they mean by “having it all”.Funny how this comic is so applicable today. I guess this is the “new norm”. :-PGood morning, legaleagle and Susan! A night-night hug for Aaron and a belly rub for LMB! (or is it the other way around? ;-))Hello to GsMom, Billy, KFG, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!

Mr. Pinkley forgot to add, “Feel lucky you have a job!” :-(

So he laid off three of his ‘family’. I’m with Mom! — time to look at adoption.
Hi Susan :-) lightenup you had me at belly rub.

Life??? What life?!?!? You have a life?!? Do you have some kind of a secret super-hero persona that none of us here know anything about?!?!? Because beyond shopping at the mall, I haven’t seen any evidence of any kind of life besides that and work. Poor Electra can barely even get you to take her for a walk most days! :-(

Sorry Cathy, no life for you. You don’t know what to do with it. This is probably the only time I’ll agree with Mr. P.
lightenup FUNNY comment this a.m. LOL

Hmmm, too much red. I think I’ll says
Hi Mom! in red and then change back. Probably not so in-your-face color that way. :-) LMB scored two points at basketball tonight. The GU kids really love him. Then again, who wouldn’t? :-)rgcviper over 12 years ago
I was gonna say, “Cue the eye-roll” again tonight. However, this one hits home a little too much, I’d say, in terms of the general job market.
As for the heat, I say bring it on. Let’s just say cold and I do not get along.

Just a quick good night (or good morning for some)! Between rehearsal and setup I have not spent time working let alone commenting this week. End of year recital for the local dance school opens tomorrow night for 3 shows. I guess this is my ‘life’ outside of work. Just glad I really enjoy doing lighting for local organizations – far more fun than programming really – just cannot make a living at it (especially since I only volunteer my time for lighting – hate getting paid for a hobby!)I managed to keep up with the eye-rolls this week though but behind in everything else. Trying to ignore the problems piling up in the office – not looking forward to next week. How come taking several days off results in several weeks worth of issues to resolve? (I know – eye-roll!)

Looking back at the strip – if the emails and messages from this week were on paper, my pile would rival Cathy’s. 82 would be wonderful – got up to 70 today for the first time since mid-March. Been hovering just above 0 for the past few weeks. Oops – not supposed to mix Celsius and Fahrenheit in the same message. I think sleep is needed now…

Hi Cathyites!! Like I said yesterday — major work speed-up for Cathy.Temp hit 92 in Detroit area today — a little hot for me — but we’re having thunderstorms as I write this, so cooler tomorrow.Don’t envy you hendelca — I remember recital times all too well — and spent many weekends herding little kids in cute little costumes around back-stage. Now I just take class myself — so much better.
