Mr Pinkley: I'd like to talk to you about an exciting new management program: "V.P.C."! Person: V. P. C.? Mr Pinkley: Voluntary Pay Cut! It's a chance to give back to the company that has given so much to you! Simply write how much less you'd like to earn on a little piece of paper and......Or, for the real team players, we have "W.S.O.": Worthless Stock Options!

Oh, brother — there isn’t an eyeroll dramatic enough for this strip!

Since Mr. P probably earns 4 times more than the highest paid person earns and 10 times the lowest, HE should take a VPC. And a chill pill. Nut job!
Hullo Susan and lightenup. Yes, you are right about what you said about Mom! last night. Nice to see hendelca back last night. Wow lindz.coop you sure are hot. And 92 isn’t my cup of tea either.
Hope all is well. Too busy a night last night. I’m glad its finally Friday. I like Billy’s idea about cutting down a little on the H5 redness. On our large Mac display, it’s very hard on the eyes.

I think a big zero should fit on that paper just fine. The only thing I’ll give back to the company is the extra pens that I accidently brought home.Too late to say good morning, so hello to legaleagle, Susan, Aaron, GsMom, Billy, KFG, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!p.s. lindz.coop sure is hot. Yowza! ;-)

Yeah, our employeers give us so much: grief, anxiety, frustration, heartburn, cancer, coronary artery disease. I’d love to give some of that back.

It’s amazing and sad that today’s strip mirrors what’s happening today. And I agree with Aaron that the giveback should start with Mr. P.!

Earn 20%. 40% or even 60% less but do 120% more work. I think I’ve worked for a couple of companies like that.Hello everybody. I just don’t seem to have the time to comment as much as I would like. My son has returned after a long time overseas, so I have been busy. Add that to the fact that I have so many toons in my list that it takes so long to read them all. Maybe if I didn’t read the comments? Nah. I know I should probably drop some of them because of the time, but I’ve got it down to my favorites and I would miss any that I’ve dropped. What to do? What to do?

Mr. Pinkley, you make my eyes roll so far back in my head it’s giving me a headache! I’d better be careful because I’d hate to do it so hard that they became stuck that way because that would just look too weird — not to mention unattractive!!! Who’s dumb-ass idea was this anyhow??? Just WHO who in their ever-lovin’ minds do you think would voluntarily take a 20 . . . 40 . . . or even 60% pay-cut?!?!?! If anything, taking a pay-cut like that should begin with YOU and everyone ABOVE you in that company and leave the poor pittances of the under-paid employees alone!!!!! [sheesh!!! Major eye roll again!!!]
The high today was predicted to be 83 degrees. I don’t know if it reached it or not. I stayed inside and enjoyed the Kentucky Oaks horse racing on t.v. all day today and will be doing the same thing tomorrow for the Kentucky Derby, as well. My biggest problem with the whole thing, though, are the whips they use on those poor horses!!! That’s just not right or cool to do AT ALL!!!!! :-(
lightenup: Thanks for the awesome “coolness” compliment yesterday! It’s always so nice to hear things like that about yourself . . . even if they really aren’t true! Hope you’re doing well and keeping cool today! B/t/w, I had to smile at the “May the 4th be with you!” you said to Dr. Billy. My husband said the same thing to me earlier today before I got here!!!!! ;-)
Good evening to the 3 of you, K.F.G., Susan, rgcviper, summerdog, gmforde, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, hendelca, lindz.coop, soonergal, Gator007, legaleagle48 and all the REST of the “Cathy” fanatics joining us here tonight. As always, good to “see” you all!

Hi Cathyites!! Second the eyeroll!!! My hubby works for GM and we took a huge paycut in 2009 — voluntary? — that’s questionable, but it did save his job. Also lost everything that was in the 401K (or as it has been affectionately renamed the 101K), but we were happy that he could keep his job. And the reason he needed to keep his job so badly — so that I would have health insurance. With my “pre-existing condition” no one would cover me except the plan we were already on. When I turn 65 in December, it won’t matter anymore.
Thanx to everyone who expressed concern (WOW, I haven’t been called “hot” in awhile!!) — it was cooler here today — down in the 70s and boy did it feel better!!
