Mom (out of frame): Want anything? Cathy: No, thanks. Mom: Here, Cathy! You have the nice hot piece of toast. I'll have the burned crust. Cathy: That used to make me crazy, mom, but I'm not trying to change you anymore. Now I lovingly accept our silly little differences as part of my heritage. I don't need to lock horns with you anymore. Don't need to top you...Rebel against you...Or try to reform you! I can't control you. I can only control my response to you...And I joyfully choose to step back and let you be you! Mom: Here's a fresh fruit salad. I'll just have these shriveled old grapes. Cathy: For crying out loud, mom! Show some self-respect! Mom: I win. Cathy: I quit.

Good morning fellow Cathyites! Or, for those on my schedule, good night! Absolutely exhausted but too high to try to sleep. Two shows in one day is one too many, even if they don’t have all the same dances in them. Spent almost 14 hours in the auditorium but did catch a snooze between the matinee and evening recital. Everything went really well and somehow managed to get each dance lit appropriately so everyone was pleased – thus the high! Somehow getting the stage to look just the way you visioned it pushes the ‘happy’ buttons in the brain.Somehow managed to get everything torn down and packed into the car in under two hours – a new record! Even had a nice chat with a member of the local constabulary on the way home. I was stopped for a routine check for drinking drivers – the water I had beside me did not count so he was happy. I never object to these random checks because someday they will stop the drunk driver who might be the one who would hit me. Anyhow, I think I am babbling again. I just realized that Cathy’s mom is very much like my mother-in-law – but I love her anyway!

Oh boy, TWO nut jobs for the price of one. Yeah Mom, you still hold Head Nut Job Supreme as your title. Wow. It’s true that the apple (or nut) doesn’t fall far from the tree. I won’t even go into the “Mom’s” setting on the toaster.
Slept in on this nice cloudy Sunday. I don’t do that often. LMB was too comfy. Morning / afternoon all. Oh such a nice hug from lindz.coop. Aaron was right.

So I’m guessing the “Mom’s” setting on the toaster is for ashes? Or at the opposite end, untoasted plain old bread. So that she can continue to be the suffering kindly mother? Oy. Even LMB is rolling his little eyes at that one!
Hi Cathy friends. I dunno about you but my mom wasn’t in suffering. Neither is Billy’s mom. And WE do the cooking when we go to see his folks.
