Aah, I hate when that happens! I went shopping for my trip to Paris and bought a lot of stuff with the help of a personal shopper. After I went home and thought about it, I ended up returning most of it later. I was happy when I found out that the personal shopper wasn’t there when I returned it. (yes, I know I’m a chicken and I shouldn’t worry about what she thought. I just hate having to explain myself and dealing with the pressure when she tries to talk me out of it.)Good morning, Susan and the other early birds!Hello to the rest of the clan! Good to hear from everyone yesterday!

Being a stay-at-home wife and mom, I don’t have the money to buy things that I don’t really, really love and want to keep forever (or until it wears out — whichever one comes first!). Of course, whenever I go shopping, there never seems to be anyone around to help me anyhow even if I need it so . . . if I’m on my own to shop, and then something happens and I HAVE to return what I just bought, at least there’s no particular salesperson there I have to avoid in order to not feel guilty about it.
Good evening, lightenup, lightenupjr., lil’lightenup, Dr. K.F.G. Hi Cathyites!! I almost always ask if I can return something if it doesn’t work with something I have at home. I’ve never noticed that a salesperson’s feelings were hurt when that occurs.

I don’t think I’ve ever returned anything, or not that I can remember. I don’t go out shopping on a whim, though. I only shop when I need to replace something that’s worn out, and I generally know exactly what I want before I leave the house.
Like you, GretchensMom, I was a full-time Mum to my kids, so there wasn’t enough money to waste on silliness. Now that we’re older there’s a bit more leeway, but still not enough to throw around without a lot of careful consideration first.
