It’s a bit cooler here today. The air is moving around, which makes such a difference!

You deserve it, Irving. What a hot mess you are. Sadly, Cathy will come back to you, so don’t worry too much.Good morning, Cathy clan! Glad to hear it’s cooling off a bit for my friends! We’ve had it pretty cool here (for Georgia), but we’re used to the heat here (and we have AC, which many don’t elsewhere). My good news is that we just picked up Jr from camp! She looks very tired, but it sounds like she had a lot of fun, except for missing us. She said she would go back to camp next year, but only day camp or if it ended on Friday. Ah well, we have months to think about it…. :-) I think lindz.coop (and others) were right and the dramatic letter home was much worse than reality. LOL!Tomorrow, we may drive to visit my mom so I may not sign on tomorrow at all. Hope you all have a great weekend and rgcviper has a wonderful vacation!

Glad to hear that Jr. had a better time than she expected – and she’ll be that little bit older by next time, and she’ll know what to expect by then.
I’ve been reading old “Stone Soup” strips, having only quite recently discovered it, and some of the summer camp strips in there are so true, I think. The ones where the girls wrote miserable letters home on their first day – but were having too much fun to write again! – were wonderful for other worrying mothers!
But it’ll be lovely for you to have her home again, and lovely for her to be back with you. Have a wonderful time swapping stories and catching up.

I’m glad we get to see Cathy all over again because I missed these ones where Irving is the more neurotic one – boy are they a perfect match!_______________________________________________Good morning Cathy clan! @ lightenup so glad to hear that Jr had such a great time. She’ll probably change her mind by the time next year rolls around, we’ll see. I think I mentioned before that my daughters are in a day camp. They go swimming and on all sorts of little field trips – I’m sure Jr. would really enjoy something like that too.

I’m just wondering why Irving hasn’t dug that 10’ hole and jumped in it yet!!!!! ;-)
Hi, rgcviper! Hope you’re having a great time on your trip!
lightenup: Glad Jr. is home safe and sound with her family again and that she had a good time at camp. Have a wonderful time visiting your mother should you decide to make that drive tomorrow and we’ll “see” you when you get back. [When would that be, by the way?]
Hello and Happy Saturday, “Cathy” clan. Hope everyone’s having a really great weekend so far!

Hi everyone! Thanks for your kind notes about Jr! Shyygirl, she has done many day camps and enjoys them, but you just can’t get the same experience as a sleepaway camp. It was so cool to hear her say today that when she was taking a shower she heard my voice in her head telling her what to do, and when it was time to choose something to eat, she made choices that she thought would be good. Such a sweet child, it made my year to hear it!! She has always been good as far as listening to me and trying to do the right thing, but you never know how they’re going to be when you’re not there. So this was so wonderful to know/hear.We do have at least 6 months before we have to think about signing up for next summer, so I’m not pushing it, but I really think it was a good experience (except for the homesickness)! Anyway, I should be at my mom’s by tomorrow night, but I"m sure I’ll be exhausted and I won’t sign in. Hopefully, I’ll have a chance the rest of the week while I’m there, but if not, no worries, I’ll be back next week! Have a good one, friends!

I melt if it goes over about 64 F! Here in Scotland we just don’t get temperatures like that. It’s been frighteningly hot (for us) here lately.

I am totally with you, Cathy. That’s rare.
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
