Cathy still sending out Christmas cards by regular mail? Doesn’t she own a computer and has access to the internet? Would she be sending e-cards instead?

Even Cathy’s mom, who in the strip is in her 50s or 60s, can send e-cards. Unless we are still dealing with strips of 25-30 years ago, when there were no PCs and no world wide web and no internet.

I am on the Internet all day long. I check my email at least every 30 minutes. And I STILL send Christmas cards out by regular mail. There is just something special about someone taking the time to send a card that beats the electronic card/email every time.

I’m with you, PhoebeDog. E-cards just seem impersonal to me, as opposed to the feeling of holding cards in your hand. (Although, E-cards do come in handy now and then.)

I also agree, PhoebeDog. I love getting Christmas cards that I can display all month. My mom even keeps up some of them all year (for her grandchildren and other special families). I also send actual cards in the mail for birthdays, Valentine’s Day and Halloween (for some special kids). If the birthday person is just an acquaintance, I will do the electronic route however.Good morning, Cathy clan! (Glad to see you in the morning crew, rcviper!)

I definitely didn’t inherit my procrastination from my mother. Her xmas cards were always out early. Then she packed boxes of calif oranges up for everyone too. Happy Saturday all.

I don’t get my Christmas cards mailed out until around this time every December but, up until I fell hopelessly behind this year, I always have them filled out inside with hand-written messages, addressed, stamped and ready to be mailed by Thanksgiving so that I can concentrate on everything else I need to do for Christmas — beginning with approximately 3 days worth of Christmas decorating that starts the day after Thanksgiving. This year, I’ve been working on my cards off and on since around the 2nd week in November and didn’t get all of them finally and completely done until last night, then my husband dropped them in the mail today. It’s not easy — or fast — doing almost 80 cards every year [I get a serious case of hand cramping after I do around 25 or 30] so I have to slowly pace myself. I may send the occasional e-card [depending on the situation and my relationship to them], but a majority of the time, when it comes to birthdays, anniversaries and major holidays, I buy and send actual paper cards. E-cards are just way too impersonal for me when it comes to the special people in my life. Yes, it’s extra work . . . but they’re worth it!!!!!

Hello and Happy Saturday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone’s having a nice day today and keeping warm [if it’s cold where you are]. We had rain turn to sleet, turn to 4" of snow yesterday/last night. My husband and I are NOT cold-weather people but at least the family dog enjoys it so I guess that’s something anyhow!!!!! ;-)

I’m just plodding along with the cards — honestly, I don’t think it matters when folks get them, just so they hear from me. I send mostly snail mail, but sometimes, I send an ecard. They are cute and people often seem to really appreciate the fun.
