Cathy: Online Valentines don't count. They're too impersonal. Man: The one I plan to e-mail to my girlfriend is very personal. Cathy: It won't count if no one sees you buy it! Man: Why not? Cathy: To be personal, other people have to watch you shop...agonize...get insecure...shop some more...otherwise, what have you risked?? What piece of your heart have you given us?? Man: It isn't for you! Cathy: On Valentine's Day, women function as a group.

I would never again want to be so young and stupid as to care about something as inconsequential as Valentine’s Day…

The main reason I look forward to Valentine’s day is because it means winter is half over and the days are beginning to get longer..If women “function as a group” in Cathy’s world, I’m glad I don’t live there. I would rather be myself.

A woman I know asked me to take a picture of her—with her phone—last Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, her boyfriend chose that exact moment to send a valentine that pretty much defined the term “personal”…

While I agree with Cathy that this guy giving his girlfriend an e-card for Valentine’s Day is pretty impersonal, the rest of that speech she gave him is complete and utter nonsense — especially that “women function as a group” cr@p. I don’t care whether anyone “sees” me or my husband buy our cards for each other or not. All that really matters is the sweet, sentimental message in it that tells the other person how we really, truly feel about them . . . sometimes better than anything we can actually say to them ourselves. As for the “inclusion” of anyone else in this card-selecting process? Yeah, right. I don’t think so! Only someone as crazy as Cathy would think and say something like that and actually believe it to be true!!!
Hi, rgcviper!
Susan: Our local newspaper still does this — in both their [printed] paper and on-line editions. A few people put in some pretty weird-sounding things every now and then, but mostly it’s a lot of sweet, sentimental stuff to the loves in their lives. ♥
lightenup: Don’t forget a face-palm slap and a huge “D’oh!!!” to go along with it!!!!! ;-)
ellisaana: I totally agree with you. I’d rather be myself too. Much less complicated that way!!! ;-)
Hello and Happy Wednesday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today.

Who needs to agonize?? Just buy it or don’t buy it. I don’t waste my soul on such paltry things.

Over-thinking things just a bit, are we, Cathy? [Eye-roll]
And, for good measure, let’s add in a [face-palm], as someone suggested, along with a [head-desk].
HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
